What This App Does
Fact Check is a tool that listens to audio, transcribes it, extracts claims, and fact-checks them using AI. All processing happens in real-time.
Data We Process
- Audio: Captured from your microphone when you click "Start listening"
- Transcripts: Text converted from your audio
- Claims: Statements extracted for fact-checking
How Data Is Processed
Your audio and text are sent to third-party AI services for processing:
- OpenAI Whisper: Converts audio to text
- xAI Grok: Extracts claims and performs fact-checking
These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them:
Data Retention
We do not maintain a user-content database. Audio is processed in real-time and discarded. Fact-check results are stored in your browser session and cleared when you close the page. If transcript diagnostics are enabled, recent transcript text and extracted claims may be retained in Sentry diagnostic events, structured logs, and feedback reports so we can improve claim detection. You can turn transcript diagnostics off in Settings.
Analytics
This app uses Vercel Analytics to understand basic site usage and performance. It also uses Sentry for error monitoring, masked session replay, structured pipeline logs, and manual feedback reports. Sentry replay masks on-screen text and inputs. Diagnostic events include technical metadata such as connection state, text length, claim counts, verdicts, and error details. When transcript diagnostics are enabled in deployment config and in Settings, diagnostic events, structured logs, and feedback attachments can also include recent transcript text and extracted claims. These reports are not tied to an app account, and raw audio is not stored in these diagnostics.
Rate Limiting
To prevent abuse, we use anonymized (hashed) IP addresses for rate limiting. Your actual IP address is never stored - only a one-way hash that cannot be reversed to identify you. These hashes are temporary and used only to enforce short request throttles and the recording duration cap.
Your Rights
Since we don't store your data, there's nothing to delete or export. You control the microphone permission in your browser and can revoke it at any time.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
